The RFU spoke about problems with finding opponents for the Russian national team in November
General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov spoke about the problem with finding opponents for the Russian national team. His words are quoted by TASS.
“The November matches are a difficult topic because a large number of teams have already started qualifying for different competitions,” he explained. Mitrofanov added that the organization continues to work on this issue.
In February 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup.
Since then, the Russian national team has played only in friendly matches, in which they have not suffered a single defeat. On October 12, the first game of this time took place on the home field – Valery Karpin’s team beat Cameroon in Moscow with a score of 1:0.
