Russian fighter Vadim Nemkov said that Bellator will continue to exist
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Vadim Nemkov spoke about the future of Bellator amid news of the closure of the promotion. His words are quoted by TASS.
“I was told that tournaments are planned for next year. And many have contracts for two years,” he said. Nemkov added that if the league closes, it will be necessary to pay compensation, but this is not profitable.
On October 17, Russian fighter Mukhamed Berkhamov said that Bellator 301 on November 17 will be the promotion’s last tournament in the United States, after which it will cease activities. “Everything is in an unclear situation now. Some of the fighters will be signed to the Professional Fighting League (PFL), but not all,” the athlete noted.
Bellator has been around since 2008. It is considered the second largest MMA promotion in the world after the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
