White wanted to place a quote from Russian UFC champion Makhachev at an arena in the USA
The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White, in an interview with the YouTube channel MMA Mania, admired the words of the Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Islam Makhachev after changing his opponent in the next fight.
The head of the UFC wanted to place a quote from the promotion’s lightweight champion at the arena in Las Vegas (USA). “I want this phrase from Makhachev to be on the wall in Apex. And at the UFC Institute too! I like this approach so much!” – he said.
Earlier, Makhachev talked about the UFC champion belt. “What does a champion title mean? That you are the best in the world. And being the best in the world assumes that you don’t care who stands opposite you in the octagon. What should I have said? No? Never. So let’s go,” he said.
On October 11, it became known that Makhachev’s opponent, Brazilian Charles Oliveira, was injured and was replaced by Alexander Volkanovski. The fight between the Russian and the Australian will take place on October 21 at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi.
In total, the 31-year-old Russian had 25 fights in his career, in which he won 24 victories and was defeated only once.
