Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan assessed the possibility of joining the Armenian national team. Her words are quoted by Sport24.

The athlete stated that she was never invited to the Armenian national team. “Stupid question. Would you go if invited? Let’s move on,” she emphasized. Petrosyan added that she rarely comes to Armenia, but the local residents there greet her very kindly.

On October 15, Petrosyan won the first stage of the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix of the 2023/2024 season, which was held in Ufa. The athlete scored a total of 234.74 points. Anna Frolova took second place, and Elizaveta Kulikova took third place.

On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union banned Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Because of the sanctions, figure skaters, speed skaters and short track speed skaters were unable to take part in the World and European Championships and other international tournaments.
