Ivan Emelianenko said that MMA fighter Alexander Emelianenko is on the mend
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Ivan Emelianenko spoke about the rehabilitation process of his brother Alexander Emelianenko. Sport Express reports this.
According to the athlete, the relative is recovering. “Compared to the appearance in which he entered the last fight, of course, there are results, they are obvious. God grant that I don’t drink after returning from there,” Emelianenko Jr. noted.
On October 6, his promoter Vladimir Khryunov spoke about Emelianenko’s condition. The functionary noted that the rehabilitation process is coming to an end, and in December the athlete will be able to fight again.
On July 29, Emelianenko spoke about treatment for alcoholism. “I went to hospitals, they provided me with VIP rooms, they gave me drippings, they prescribed procedures. Then I went out and thought: no one will find out, I’ll grab a beer. And again it all started from the same thing,” Emelianenko said, adding that he liked this lifestyle.
41-year-old Emelianenko has 40 MMA fights, in which he won 29 victories and suffered ten defeats. Another fight with his participation ended in a draw.
