The trainer spoke about the health hazards that arise when doing the plank

Coach Volynkina said that arching the lower back in the plank leads to back pain

Fitness trainer Maria Volynkina spoke about the health hazards that arise when doing the plank. The specialist’s words are quoted by Life.

“There is a very important and common mistake when the abs relax and the lower back bends. It is important to stretch your back and neck; under no circumstances should you break the neck line,” Volynkina said. She explained that due to the arch in the lower back, the stomach and neck relax, and this leads to back pain and, over time, injuries.

The expert said that when doing the plank, it is important to maintain a straight back line. She added that you need to fixate in this position for at least 20-30 seconds, and if physical fitness allows, then for one minute.

Earlier, fitness expert Egor Khodyrev spoke about the method of drop sets for saving time in training. He explained that drop sets are a training method in which exercises are performed with weights and the weight is dropped when muscle failure is reached.
