The women’s soccer team of Ecuador, led by Colombia’s Andrés Usme, invited twenty-three players, eleven from clubs from Spain, Italy, the United States, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay, to play two friendly matches against Peru on Saturday.
The first will take place on October 28 at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium, and the second on the 31st at the Banco Guayaquil Stadium, also in the Ecuadorian capital.
Those whom Usme named are the following:
Manoly Baquerizo (Cacereño-ESP), Ligia Moreira (Alhama-ESP), Kerlly Real (Valencia-ESP) and Giannina Lattanzio (Pavia-ITA).
There will also be Tamara Angulo (River Plate-ARG), Danna Pesantez (Urquiza-ARG), Joselyn Espinales (Atlético Nacional-COL), Andréa Morán (Nacional URU), Marthina Aguirre (High Point University-USA), Doménica Rodríguez and Karen Flores (Bakersfield-USA).
Recent Women’s Super League runner-up Independiente del Valle will contribute Kathia Mendoza, Fiorela Pico, Analiz Zambrano, María Bravo, Emily Arias and Nicole Charcopa.
Barcelona, the new champions of the Super League, will give up Justina Cuadra and Stefany Cedeño.
Estefanía Ifema and Milagro Barahona were invited from the Catholic University; from Liga de Quito Isabel Trujillo and Liceth Suárez from Espuce.
The training sessions will take place next week at the Sports Complex in the Ecuadorian capital, where the senior men’s national team is currently concentrating and training for this Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Colombia. (D)
