Serbian football player Djordje Despotovic decided to obtain Russian citizenship
Serbian footballer Djordje Despotovic, who played for several clubs in the Russian Premier League (RPL), decided to obtain Russian citizenship. Match TV reports this.
“He has a Russian wife and child. At the end of the year he will apply for citizenship,” said the footballer’s representative Yuri Gorbenko. He also noted that Despotovic is now without a club, but is staying in shape in Moscow and will go to training camp with one of the teams in the winter.
In July, Despotovich spoke about the attitude of his compatriots towards Russians. “Serbia is one of the rare countries that supports Russia in everything, and it will always be so,” the player noted.
Despotovich’s last club was Arsenal Tula, which he left in July. He also played for Orenburg and Rubin.
