Norwegian skiers accused Bolshunov of lying

Tenseth and Northug said that Bolshunov lied about the message from the Norwegian skiers

Norwegian skiers Didrik Tenseth and Evan Northug accused three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov of lying. Their words are quoted by Nettavisen.

The athletes said that Bolshunov lied about the message from the Norwegian skiers with a desire to meet. “This could be a way to put pressure on the situation. After all, no one can protect themselves from this. I doubt that anyone on our team did this,” Tenset considered.

On April 9, Bolshunov spoke about the words that touched him from his Norwegian opponent. He stated that an athlete from the national team sent him a message with the phrase “come to us, we miss you” and with a wish to leave what was happening aside.

In March 2022, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended Russians from participating in tournaments under its auspices. Later, the International Ski Federation extended this measure to all international competitions that it organizes.
