Roman Kostomarov showed how he drives a car after installing prosthetics
Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov published a video of driving a car after installing prosthetics. The athlete published a video on his Telegram channel.
“Nothing is impossible. No handles while driving! We are not racing, we are driving along a motorcycle track, braking, turning. I feel normal, only my left hand feels a little unpleasant,” Kostomarov said.
Earlier, Kostomarov said that he hoped to skate on the ice. “We need to pick up more boots, skates and somehow adapt to the current prosthesis, since without an ankle, figure skating is quite problematic,” he explained.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to prolonged connection to a blood oxygenation machine and a ventilator, his tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire hand of his right hand and several fingers of his left.
