Chimaev, after Costa’s refusal, will fight in a UFC contender’s fight with Usman

Mixed style fighter (MMA) representing the UAE, Khamzat Chimaev, has received a new opponent in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This was reported on the promotion website.

At UFC 294 on October 21, Chimaev will fight with Nigerian Kamaru Usman, who replaced Brazilian Paulo Costa, who withdrew due to injury. It is noted that the middleweight fight will be a challenger fight. The winner of the fight will have the opportunity to compete for the UFC title with the current belt holder, American Sean Strickland.

In total, Chimaev fought 12 fights in his professional career without suffering a single defeat. He fought his last fight on September 10, 2022, when he defeated American Kevin Holland by choke. Usman has 20 wins and three losses. He lost his last two fights.

In the main fight of UFC 294, Russian Islam Makhachev will meet with Australian Alexander Volkanovski, replacing the injured Brazilian Charles Oliveira. Makhachev will have to defend his lightweight title.
