Footballer Ngamale: in Cameroon they reacted normally to Ondua’s boots with the Russian flag
The forward of Dynamo Moscow and the Cameroon national team Mumi Ngamale spoke about the reaction to the Russian flag on the boots of teammate Gael Ondua. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The footballer said that the team reacted well to this. “He’s half Russian, there was nothing like that. Gael speaks Russian very well,” he emphasized.
Ondua took part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he took to the field wearing boots with the flags of Cameroon and Russia. For this, the football player received criticism and threats. In response to them, the midfielder said that he had been wearing these shoes for many years and did not want to change the tradition at the tournament.
Ondua holds Cameroonian and Russian passports because his father worked at the African country’s embassy. The footballer played for the youth teams of Lokomotiv Moscow and CSKA, as well as for Anzhi Makhachkala.
The Russian national team’s match against Cameroon will take place on October 12. The meeting will take place at the VTB Arena stadium in Moscow.
