American mixed martial artist (MMA) Dominic Reyes has said he has no plans to return to competing anytime soon due to health concerns. His words are quoted by Bloody Elbow.
“Yes, I could be an alpha male, plow in the gym and all that. But these fights are no joke. I need time to heal properly, ”said the 31-year-old athlete best known for his performances in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Reyes said he would take a break. He referred to health problems. “I won’t fight until February. This is the earliest I can go back. I need to take care of my brain, ”he stressed.
Reyes has been defeated in his last three bouts in the UFC. In two of them, the American lost by knockout.
Reyes is a former contender for the UFC light heavyweight belt. He lost to compatriot John Jones by decision.
In total, Reyes has 12 victories and three defeats.
