Hasek said that the NHL will have to pay billions of dollars for the performance of Russians
Olympic champion, two-time Stanley Cup winner Dominik Hasek on social networks X reacted to the participation of Russians in the new season of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The former athlete did not like that the organization decided to allow Russian hockey players to play without speaking out about politics for the third season in a row. “The NHL has to pay billions of dollars for this,” he calculated.

The new NHL season started on the night of October 11. In the first match of the new season, the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Nashville Predators. Tampa’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov scored the first goal.
Hasek is known for criticizing Russian athletes. He called for the removal of Russians from all international tournaments. In particular, the Czech proposed suspending the contracts of Russian players in the NHL, and later called on the league leaders to resign because of their position on Russia.
