Endocrinologist Pavlova said that hockey player Ovechkin has excess muscle mass
Endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova on Telegram appreciated the statements about the excess weight of the Russian Washington Capitals striker Alexander Ovechkin.
The expert said that an increased body mass index, that is, the ratio of weight to height, does not indicate obesity. “This only means that a person has an excess of something in the body. In the case of Ovechkin, it’s excess muscle mass,” she explained, emphasizing that the hockey player cannot be called fat.
Previously, journalists from The Hockey Writers compiled a list of the biggest players in the National Hockey League (NHL). Ovechkin, who is 190 centimeters tall and weighs 108 kilograms, was included in the rating. The article classified him as “overweight” based on his body mass index.
On October 10, Forbes named Ovechkin the highest paid player in the NHL. According to the publication, in the new season the captain of the capital club will receive a total of $17.5 million, excluding taxes and agent fees.
