The coach of the Russian Premier League club Zenit, Igor Simutenkov, spoke about the things that surprised him while living in the USA. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The specialist said that he was surprised by the complete freedom in the country. He said that American athletes get to the airport on their own, fly to another city, check into a hotel and are left to their own devices before the match. Simutenkov emphasized that he managed to avoid temptations since he came to the States to work.
From 2002 to 2004, Simutenkov played for the North American Major League Soccer club Kansas City. While playing for the club, the athlete won the US Open Cup. Since 2017, he has been working as an assistant coach at Zenit.
