Ex-footballer Petr Cech made 62 saves in a hockey match and became the MVP of the match
Former football goalkeeper Petr Cech won the best player (MVP) of the hockey match for Oxford City Stars. RIA Novosti reports this.
The goalkeeper made 62 saves in the English National Hockey League (NIHL) match with Streatham. The meeting ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of the ex-footballer’s team.
41-year-old Cech ended his football career in 2019 and then switched to hockey. He played for Guildford Phoenix and Chelmsford Chieftains before transferring to Oxford in 2023.
Cech is known for his performances for London’s Chelsea and Arsenal. As part of the “aristocrats”, he became the champion of England four times and won the Champions League. In 2004, the football player became a bronze medalist at the European Championship as part of the Czech national team.
