Fargo expert recommends using lightweight weights for endurance training
Women’s Health fitness expert Morgan Fargo gave tips on choosing the right weights for your workouts. Recommendations are given on the publication’s website.
The specialist noted that the choice of additional weight depends on physical fitness and the goals of the exercise. For endurance training, weights should be lightweight to allow you to perform more repetitions without compromising your form. In this case, the exercise should be repeated 10-14 times, making 2-3 approaches.
When training for strength, Fargo says you should choose a moderately heavy weight that will allow you to perform more sets (3-6) but fewer reps (6-10). To build muscle, the expert recommended taking the maximum possible weight, repeating the movement 4-6 times, performing them in two approaches or less.
Earlier, fitness expert Egor Khodyrev spoke about the method of drop sets for saving time in training. He explained that drop sets are a training method in which exercises are performed with weights and the weight is dropped when muscle failure is reached.
