Russian striker Grigory Denisenko has a contract with Vegas until the end of the season
Russian forward Grigory Denisenko signed a contract with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Journalist Elliott Friedman reported this on social media. X (former name of Twitter).
Vegas took Denisenko from the waiver draft, where he was placed by the Florida Panthers. The contract with the 23-year-old forward was signed until the end of the 2023/2024 season. It is noted that for the year the hockey player will receive a salary of 775 thousand dollars.
Florida selected Denisenko in the first round, 15th overall, in the 2018 draft. He has been playing in the NHL since 2022. The forward spent the 2022/2023 season in the Florida farm club in the American Hockey League (AHL), appeared on the ice in 19 matches and made three assists. The forward is also known for his performances for the Russian youth hockey team, with which he won the bronze medal at the World Championship in 2019.
Three more Russian hockey players are playing in Vegas. Since 2023, Ivan Barbashev has been playing for the club; in 2021, Pavel Dorofeev and Daniil Miromanov joined the team.
