On the night of August 6, Umar, who is the cousin of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, was supposed to headline a promotion tournament for the first time in his career. He was supposed to participate in a fight against American Corey Sandhagen, but on July 19, the athlete’s manager Rizvan Magomedov announced that Nurmagomedov was injured and would have to undergo surgery.
27-year-old Umar Nurmagomedov has 16 wins and no losses in MMA. He had four fights in the UFC.
