Avtodor intends to sue the VTB United League over a fine for criticizing referees
The VTB United League club “Avtodor” from Saratov announced their intention to sue over a fine for criticizing the referees by team president Vladimir Rodionov. The message was published on the club’s Telegram channel.
“We’ll meet in court,” the team wrote. Attached to the publication are the minutes of the meeting of the VTB United League Directorate.
Earlier on October 5, Rodionov, in an interview with Sport Express, expressed dissatisfaction with the appointment of referees for the team’s matches. “How does it happen that in violation of all possible norms existing in all sports, an away match of the Moscow team [МБА] is a chief judge appointed from Moscow?” – said the functionary. He was also outraged that the club’s two games in a row were refereed by the same referee.
In the 2023/2024 season, Avtodor played two matches. On October 1, the team lost away to Runa with a score of 79:87. On October 5, the Saratov team lost at their MBA arena with a score of 73:87.
