Monaco recognized Russian Alexander Golovin as the best player in September
Monaco named Russian midfielder Alexander Golovin the club’s best player in September. This was reported on the team’s website.
In three meetings, the midfielder scored two goals and one assist. In addition, Monegasque fans voted the Russian the best player of the match three times in September. On September 17, in a game against Lorient, Golovin made his debut as team captain.
On September 18, Monaco football director Thiago Scuro called Golovin the leader and one of the key players of the Monegasques. “It’s not surprising to me that Golovin received the captain’s armband. You can even call him a veteran of the team,” said Scuro.
Golovin moved to Monaco in 2018 after the World Cup in Russia. The midfielder’s current contract runs until June 30, 2026. In the 2022/2023 season, he played 34 matches for the club in the French Championship, in which he scored eight goals and provided seven assists.
