Dutch police detained Polish Legia players Josué and Radovan Pankov after the Conference League match against AZ, which took place in Alkmaar. Wprost reports this.
The players of the Warsaw club wanted to leave the stadium by bus, but law enforcement officers blocked the exit and demanded that the two players leave it. After this, Josué and Pankov were taken in handcuffs to the police station. The reasons for the detention are not reported; the Polish side is doing everything possible to ensure that the players are released.
Before this incident, there was a conflict between Legia representatives and local security officers near the bus. The case ended in a brawl, during which the owner of Legia, Dariusz Mioduski, was hit with a rubber baton.
The meeting took place on Thursday, October 5th. The game ended in victory for AZ with a score of 1:0.
