The Kremlin will not prevent Russians from participating in the Olympics in a neutral status
Assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin and First Vice-President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Igor Levitin spoke about the participation of national team athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games in a neutral status. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
βThe President said this, this is the choice of every athlete. If an athlete decides that he is traveling in a neutral status, we will not interfere with him,β the Kremlin representative emphasized.

The head of the ROC, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, said that the organization will pay compensation to Russian Olympians suspended from international tournaments. β500 thousand rubles will be paid for gold medalists, 350 thousand rubles for silver medalists and 250 thousand rubles for bronze medalists. 150 thousand rubles will be paid to the participants of the Olympic Games,β Pozdnyakov said.
On March 28, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that Belarusians and Russians who do not support the special operation in Ukraine be allowed to compete in neutral status. At the same time, athletes from Russia and Belarus associated with the armed forces or security agencies of their countries are recommended not to be allowed to participate in tournaments.
