CSKA Moscow lost to Fakel in a penalty shootout in the group stage match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) of the Russian Cup. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The main time of the meeting, which took place in Voronezh, ended with the score 1:1. Ruslan Magal scored a goal for the hosts. Army defender Milan Gajic equalized the score. In the penalty shootout, the Fakel players were stronger – 4:2.

The loss did not affect CSKA’s position in the standings – the team continues to lead Group A with eight points. Thanks to the victory, Fakel scored six points and moved up to third place.

In the next match, which will take place on November 1, the Voronezh team will play away against Sochi. The Moscow club will host Orenburg a day later.
