UEFA: 2028 European Football Championship to be held in Great Britain and Ireland
The 2028 European Football Championship will take place in the UK and Ireland. This was reported by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on its website.
The host countries of the tournament became known after Turkey withdrew its bid to host the Euro. At the same time, Türkiye submitted a joint bid with Italy to host Euro 2032.
UEFA’s decision will be officially announced at the organization’s executive committee on October 10. The joint application was submitted by the football associations of England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The current champion of the tournament is the Italian team. The team won the tournament in 2021, which took place in ten countries – Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia and Romania.
