Rozhkov said that the Russian Paralympic Committee is working on the transition to Asia
The head of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Pavel Rozhkov, announced work on the organization’s transition to Asia. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“We are doing serious work on the transition to the Asian Paralympic Committee. They are ready to see us there,” Rozhkov said. It is noted that the head of the Asian Paralympic Committee supported Russia’s entry into the ranks of the organization’s members.
On September 7, Rozhkov said that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) was preparing to permanently suspend Russia’s membership. Later, the majority of IPC members voted against this decision at the general assembly. At the same time, the organization is still discussing the possibility of partially suspending the membership of the RKR.
On September 29, the IPC announced the admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Games in Paris. Individual athletes will be able to take part in the tournament in a neutral status.
Last year, the IPC did not allow Russian athletes to compete at the 2022 Games. Initially, the team’s athletes were allowed to compete in a neutral status, but then the decision was changed.
