Russian figure skater Gumennik performed at the show to a Russian-language cover of Rammstein
Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik found a way to circumvent the ban on performing to the music of the band Rammstein. His words are quoted by Sports.ru.
The athlete performed at a show in Beijing to a Russian-language cover version of the composition. “I didn’t even have to get used to the new version of the music, since the message remained the same,” said Gumennik. He added that he himself proposed this version of the musical accompaniment, but not the entire team immediately agreed with this idea.
On September 17, Gumennik said that he was forced to refuse to use the Rammstein song during his performances in the short program. The reason was a letter to the Russian Ministry of Sports and the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
21-year-old Gumennik won the silver medal at the Russian Championship last season. He also won the national Grand Prix final.
