Spartak reported that there were no negotiations to extend the contract with Dzhikia
General Director of Spartak Oleg Malyshev spoke about the situation with the contract of club captain Georgy Dzhikia. His words are quoted in the Telegram channel “Football Bigi”.
Malyshev stated that there were no negotiations to extend the contract with Dzhikia. “Everything is fine. At the right time, yes, we will,” he added.
Earlier, the Euro-Football publication reported that the red and white gave Jikia an ultimatum. According to the source, the management of the capital’s team is ready to keep Dzhikiya in the lineup if he agrees to a significant reduction in wages.
This season, Jikia played eight matches for the team in all tournaments, without scoring any goals. At the same time, in the last two meetings in the national championship, the defender remained in reserve.
Dzhikia has been playing for the Moscow team since January 2017. The defender’s current contract with the club runs until the end of the 2023/2024 season.
