Australian boxer Tim Tszyu became WBO world champion without a fight
Australian boxer Tim Tszyu without a fight received the title of world champion according to the World Boxing Organization (WBO) in the weight category up to 69.9 kilograms. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
This happened after the former holder of the belt, American Jermell Charlo, began a fight with Mexican Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas, in which he lost.
Tim Tszyu, who is the eldest son of former undisputed world champion Kostya Tszyu, was scheduled to fight Charlo on January 28. However, the fight was postponed indefinitely due to the American’s injury. After Charlo refused to fight Tszyu, it became known that he was stripped of his belt.
Tim Tszyu has 23 victories in a row, 17 of which were won by knockout. In his professional career, he did not suffer a single defeat.
