Alvarez defeated Charlo and retained the title of absolute world boxing champion

Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez won a fight against American Jermell Charlo. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The fight in the weight category up to 76.2 kilograms took place in Las Vegas (USA) and lasted all 12 rounds. The Mexican won by unanimous decision.

Thus, Alvarez retained the title of absolute world boxing champion. He defended the World Boxing Association (WBA Super), World Boxing Organization (WBO), World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles for the third time.

In total, 33-year-old Alvarez won 60 victories in his career (39 of which by knockout) with two defeats and two draws. 33-year-old Charlo suffered the second defeat of his career, and also has 35 wins and one draw. At the same time, the American automatically lost the WBO champion title – Australian Tim Tszyu became its new owner.
