Scientists say short bursts of activity can help keep you healthy
Scientists from Australia and the UK have identified the benefits of brief daily activity for prolonging life. The study results were published in an article in The Lancet Public Health.
“In recent years, growing scientific evidence has suggested that it is not just targeted exercise that provides health benefits, but also short bursts of activity,” the scientists said. Climbing stairs or doing housework are considered such loads.
Researchers have found that one to three minutes of continuous exercise is enough to maintain health. “Our work suggests that people can potentially reduce their risk of serious heart problems simply by engaging in moderate-intensity activities of daily living,” they said.
Earlier, Men Today journalists gave reasons to choose short workouts instead of long ones. It was noted that the longer a person exercises, the more tired he gets, so it is better to shorten the training, but perform all elements efficiently.
