Olympic Games champion Hasek supported the admission of Russian youth football teams to tournaments
Olympic champion, two-time Stanley Cup winner Dominik Hasek appreciated the admission of Russian youth football teams to international tournaments. He shared his reaction on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Hasek supported the proposal of the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). “Children are not responsible for their parents,” he noted.
On September 26, the UEFA Executive Committee proposed allowing Russian national teams among players under 17 years of age to participate in international tournaments. The executive committee noted that the proposal includes admission in a neutral status, that is, athletes can receive the right to compete without the flag and anthem.
After this, a number of countries announced a boycott of matches with Russian teams. This decision was announced in England, Ukraine, Poland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Norway.
