Figure skater Zhou criticized the IOC, WADA and RUSADA over the Valieva doping case

American figure skater Vincent Zhou criticized the parties to the doping case of Russian Kamila Valieva. He is quoted by CNN.

Zhou accused all parties to the Valieva case of supporting Russia – the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). “Which of these many actors represents the interests of me and my teammates and, indeed, the interests of the wider sporting community?” – he was indignant.

On September 25, Zhou spoke about the widespread use of doping among Russian figure skaters. “Positive doping test [Камилы] Valieva is not an isolated case,” the athlete noted.

At the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, Valieva won the team tournament as part of the Russian team, but the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners was not held due to a doping scandal involving her participation. Traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in the skater’s sample from December 2021. Hearings in Valieva’s case began on September 26, but CAS postponed them until November.
