The Elena Isinbaeva Charitable Foundation in Volgograd has suspended its work
Two-time Olympic pole vault champion Elena Isinbayeva has suspended the work of her charitable foundation in Russia. RIA Novosti reports this.
The athlete opened the fund in 2013. At the moment, the organization registered in Volgograd is still listed as operating in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, but does not carry out financial transactions. The last event was held in January 2022. The foundation’s website and social networks are not functioning.
On July 12, El Digital Sur reported that the former athlete lives in Tenerife. In addition, it was noted that Isinbayeva has the rank of major in the Russian Armed Forces. Later, on her VKontakte page, the Russian woman wrote that her awards and military rank from the CSKA sports society are nominal.
After this, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, advocated renaming the stadium in Makhachkala. This happened on August 21st. Now the arena will be called “Trud”, a name it bore until 2017.
