Itzulia 2024 will start from Irun, with a time trial stage

The Itzulia 2024 will leave Gipuzkoa next year, specifically from Irun, as confirmed this Thursday, September 28, by the organization in the official presentation. The 63rd edition of the race will start rolling with an urban time trial of about 10 km that It will begin and end in the Basque town. The second stage It will also leave Irun to leave Gipuzkoa territory.
Irun will once again be part of Itzulia 18 years later. In the history of the race Irun has hosted two Itzulia starts, one Itzulia final, four stage starts and three arrivals.
The mayor of Irun Jose Antonio Santano He thanked the organization of the event for its willingness and highlighted that “the city is committed to hosting top-level events that put Irun on the map of major events.”
Julian Erasopresident of the organizing association of Itzulia, OCETA, commented in the presentation that “we are very happy that a city as important in Euskadi as Irun wants Itzulia to leave its streets. It is a showcase to the world and a spectacle for the fans”.
