This Thursday, the AFA announced that Javier Mascherano will be the new coach of the Argentina Under-20 team. The former player will assume the position from January 2022.
“President Claudio Tapia met today with Javir Mascherano to define his link as the new coach of the Under-20 national team, which will start in January 2022,” wrote the AFA on social media.

The ex-Argentine player played in several clubs during his career. The most notable was Barcelona, where they played 334 games, being two-time champions of the Champions League.
He also played for Liverpool and West Ham in England, Hebei, in China, and Argentina’s River Plate and Estudiantes. In Brazil, he played 26 for Corinthians, participating in the 2005 Brazilian title.
