The Russian national football team will play play-offs to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Moscow. This was reported on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).

The draw for the 2022 World Cup qualifying rounds took place on 26 November. The Russian national team will play with the Poles in the first round. In case of victory, Karpin’s team will have to compete for access to the world championship with the best in the pair Sweden – Czech Republic.
The semi-final play-offs will take place on 24 March. The decisive meetings will take place in five days.
