Martino said Messi would be stupid to play in the US Cup final with an injury
Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino explained the absence of the club’s Argentine striker Lionel Messi from the final match of the US Open Cup. The expert’s words are quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
“Obviously it was stupid of him to play and even think about it for a few minutes because we were taking a risk. And yes, he will definitely play until the end of the championship,” Martino said. He added that the team will wait until the medical department is sure of the player’s recovery and gives him permission to play.
