Johnny Tama, Enrique Guerrero and Juan Jara will seek gold medals at the Jiu-Jitsu World Cup in kimono, in Anaheim | Other Sports | sports

The contest brings together the best BJJ exponents on the planet. The appointment is from December 9 to 12.

Ecuador is represented in the World Jiu-Jitsu with kimono of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), which takes place from this Thursday, December 9 to Sunday, 12, at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, California.

Johnny Tama, Enrique Guerrero and Juan Sebastián Jara want to leave the name of the country high in the contest that brings together the most outstanding exponents of Brazilian jiu-jitsu on the planet.

Tama (29 years old) and Guerrero (24 years old) are the most experienced of the tricolor flag and have high chances of getting on the podium in the light weight adult black belt and featherweight adult brown belt categories, respectively.

Jara (17 years old), for his part, takes part in the youth blue belt 2 middle heavyweight category.

On Friday, December 10, Jara and Guerrero compete, while Tama will make his appearance on Saturday the 11th.

Tama concentrated for two months for this World Cup. This is how he acknowledges it in conversation with THE UNIVERSE.

The 2019 world champion without kimono in the adult light weight black belt category returns to Anaheim reaping multiple successes this year, such as the vice-championship of the Pan American without kimono, second place at the Dallas International Open, third place at the Miami International Open and won the welterweight belt of grappling of the Fight to Win organization and the championship at the Charleston International Open.

Guerrero, who is a benchmark in the featherweight category, is not far behind. That of Team Urdesa Brazilian JiuJitsu, came to be positioned as number one in the ranking of its division globally. His most recent conquest was the vice-championship in the 2021 Pan American Championship. In addition, he won the Jiu Jitsu Con 2021 champion medal, he was crowned at the Orlando Summer Open 2021, as well as at the Miami International Open 2021 and the Orlando International Open 2021 .

Recently, he was invited as a luxury spectator to the first edition of The Jiujitsu League tournament, in Guayaquil. (D)
