University of Birmingham scientists: Fasted exercise helps with weight loss
Scientists from the University of Birmingham, the University of Bath, Newcastle University and the University of Stirling have identified the ideal meal times for those involved in sports. The results of their research are reported by Voice.
Scientists analyzed the energy expenditure of 12 healthy men aged 20 to 26 years. The indicators were measured in three cases: when the participant had breakfast and then rested; when he ate two hours before exercising; and when a person skipped breakfast and immediately started training.
The study found that exercising on an empty stomach is the best option for weight loss. It is noted that the body makes up for the lack of energy through adipose tissue. Additionally, exercising before breakfast helps keep insulin levels low.
In July, fitness expert Ruslan Goy spoke about morning habits that promote weight loss. He urged to monitor your sleep patterns and exercise on an empty stomach.
