Lokomotiv Moscow snatched victory from Zenit in the match of the ninth round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The meeting took place at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg and ended with a score of 2:1. In the 22nd minute, the hosts’ striker Mateo Cassierra scored. However, in the 60th minute, visiting forward Maxim Glushenkov equalized the score, and in added time to the second half, Nair Tiknizyan put the Muscovites ahead.
Zenit currently ranks third in the Russian Championship standings. The team has 17 points. Thanks to this victory, Lokomotiv rose to sixth place, gaining 15 points.
In the tenth round, the blue-white-blues will play away against Orenburg on September 30. The meeting will begin at 12:00 Moscow time. Lokomotiv will host Paris Nizhny Novgorod at home on the same day. The starting whistle will sound at 14:15 Moscow time.
