Tarasova said that in the State Duma there are issues more important than the programs of figure skater Gumennik
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the ban on the use of a Rammstein song by Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The specialist called the person who wrote the complaint against the athlete a moron. She emphasized that the skater had the right to use this song. “If this person is from the State Duma, then there are probably more important issues there than Gumennik’s short program,” Tarasova said.
On September 17, Gumennik said that he was forced to refuse to use the Rammstein song in the musical accompaniment to the short program. The reason was a letter to the Russian Ministry of Sports and the Russian Figure Skating Federation. Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said that it is necessary to explain to skaters what compositions can and cannot be used.
21-year-old Gumennik won the silver medal at the Russian Championship last season. He also won the national Grand Prix final.
