Fitness trainer Egor Khodyrev advised older people to do mountain pose
Fitness trainer Egor Khodyrev spoke about the benefits of yoga for older people. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
According to Khodyrev, adulthood is the ideal time to start practicing yoga. The specialist recommended four asanas to become more active and restore the balance of strength and energy.
Khodyrev suggested doing the mountain pose. Starting position: standing, feet together, weight distributed evenly, legs straight and tense. You need to start stretching your upper body upward. “In the classic version of mountain pose, the arms are extended upward above the head. But you can fold them at chest level or lower them down the sides of the body,” the coach noted.
Khodyrev also recommended doing the cat-cow pose. Starting position – on all fours, body straight, arms extended at the elbows, legs forming a right angle. “As you inhale, bend your back down, throwing your head as high as possible. As you exhale, arch your back upward, pushing your tailbone under you. Lower your head down, trying to touch your chin to your chest. Pull your stomach in,” the expert explained the correct technique for performing the exercise.
Next, Khodyrev advised to perform the uttanasana pose. To do this, you need to stand with your feet together, leaning on their outer edges. As you inhale, you need to raise your arms, shoulder blades and shoulders should be lowered. “As you exhale, bend over with your back straight, touching your hands to the floor. Then we fold towards our legs, moving our palms towards our feet,” said the instructor. He added that you can bend your knees slightly if necessary.
Another pose that Khodyrev suggested doing is the warrior pose. The starting position is standing, arms along the body, after which a large step is taken with one leg, the front leg bends to a right angle, the back foot turns slightly outward. After this, you need to raise your hands and stretch them upward.
Earlier, yoga instructor Nadezhda Akhmetova proposed a set of exercises for a toned body. She included chaturanga poses and two warrior variations.
