Ukrainian wrestler Filchakov refused a photo with Russian Gonibov at the World Championships
Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestler Yaroslav Filchakov refused to take a group photo with Russian Aues Gonibov at the awards ceremony of the 2023 World Championships in Belgrade. Match TV reports this.
Having won bronze in the weight category up to 82 kilograms, Filchakov left the podium. Gonibov, who also received a bronze medal, stayed for a photo with his rivals – world champion Rafik Huseynov from Azerbaijan and silver medalist Alireza Mohmadipiani from Iran.
Earlier, another wrestler, Vasily Mikhailov, did not take pictures with Russian Akhmed Usmanov. The Ukrainian who became the third did not rise to the first step to the representative of Russia.
The World Championships, which are a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, will end on September 24. Russians compete in neutral status.
