German football club Leipzig has announced a new head coach. This was reported on the team’s official website.
The club was headed by German specialist Domenico Tedesco. The contract of the former head coach of Spartak Moscow with the European team is valid until June 30, 2023.
Tedesco will be officially unveiled as head coach during a press conference on December 9th. After that, he will conduct the first training session in a new status. The first game of the team under his leadership will take place on Saturday 11 December at the home arena against Borussia.
In October, interest in the German specialist was shown in the Moscow Lokomotiv. Earlier, the possible return of the former head coach to his post was announced in “Spartak”. Also Tedesco was considered as the head coach of the Russian national team.
Tedesco worked at Spartak since October 2019 and left the team at the end of last season, in which the team finished second in the Russian Premier League (RPL) and qualified for the Champions League. The German explained the decision to leave by family circumstances.
