The Russian national team dropped from 38th to 39th place in the updated FIFA rankings
The Russian national football team has again dropped in the rankings of the International Football Federation (FIFA). This is reported on the organization’s website.
The team currently ranks 39th. In the previous ranking dated July 20, 2023, the national team was in 38th place. Argentina still holds the lead. France and Brazil took second and third place, respectively.
On September 11, the Russian team lost 1:2 to the Olympic team of Egypt in a friendly match. On September 12, the team drew with Qatar 1:1.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team has lost the opportunity to fight for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup.
