“And what’s wrong with that? I heard that someone called Karpin a traitor to the Motherland for such words… It’s strange to read something like that,” said the footballer. He drew attention to the fact that the transfer of a manager to a top company in the USA or Europe would be a professional growth for him, as well as for an athlete.
On September 12, Karpin called on Russian players to leave for European clubs. He noted that he advised leaving the Russian Premier League (RPL) many times. The coach added that he feels the difference between the level of the national team players who play in Europe and those who remain at home.
Filipenko has been playing for Ural since 2022. He is also known for his games for the Belarusian BATE, the Spanish Malaga and the Israeli Maccabi. As a member of the Belarusian national team, he became a bronze medalist at the European Youth Championship.
