Krasnodar player Spertsyan was upset about the failed move to Europe
Midfielder of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Krasnodar club Eduard Spertsyan spoke in an interview with the Nobel YouTube channel about the failed move to Europe.
“It’s hard to say I’m disappointed. But of course I was a little upset. Because I believe that I deserve this chance to play in Europe,” the athlete shared. He added that now all his thoughts are with Krasnodar, because we need to continue to work and fight for the championship.
On June 9, the Dutch Ajax made an offer to Krasnodar to purchase Spertsyan. The club’s sports director, Sven Mislintat, contacted the agency handling the player’s affairs. However, in August it became known that Mislintat was not given permission to acquire Spertsyan for moral reasons.
Spertsyan, 23, has Russian and Armenian citizenship. Since 2021, he has been playing for the Armenian national team. This RPL season, the midfielder has played in eight matches, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
