Tarasova called figure skater Gumennik’s personal business skating to the Rammstein song
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the ban on the use of a Rammstein song by Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik. Her comment is quoted by TASS.
Tarasova called performing for Rammstein a personal matter for the skater. She noted that the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) did not prohibit him from skating to the musical accompaniment of a German group.
“I would do this – let the federation, consisting of 80 people, make a decision. Let them call me. Our culture is being banned all over the world, will we also start banning culture in our own country?” – Tarasova suggested a way to resolve the situation.
Earlier, Gumennik said that he was forced to refuse to use the Rammstein song in the musical accompaniment to the short program. The reason was a letter to the Ministry of Sports of Russia and the FFKKR.
21-year-old Gumennik became the silver medalist of the Russian Championship in the 2022/2023 season. He also won the national Grand Prix final.
